The Green 4 Life Eco-Music Festival will be held at Rivfalls in Maggotty, St Elizabeth, on Saturday.

Conceptualised by Earthbound Jamaica, the festival is being held in association with the United Nations Environmental Programme and the Environmental Foundation of Jamaica.

"Green 4 Life Eco-Music Festival seeks to expose Jamaicans to new environment and energy conservation methodologies; and uses live entertainment, as well as cultural activities in delivering the messages," says Yolande Rattray Wright, managing director of Earthbound Jamaica.

Among the features of the event will be the Earthbound Eco Center "where we will be demonstrating to patrons how to go green in their everyday lives," said Wright, "and we welcome the participation of corporate investors such as Jamaica National Building Society."

Leon Mitchell, JN Group marketing, promotions executive, said that Jamaica National has signalled its commitment to promote green environmental practices through several of its sponsorships in recent years; and he believes the eco-music festival provides the perfect opportunity to engage the public and JN members about the issue of environmental sustainability.

"The JN Group aims to visibly show our support of this educational venture by creating the JN Maggotty Farmers' Market at the event," he said, "and the JN booth will be surrounded by approximately 40 stalls."

Jamaica National will also be involved in the Eco Centre, which will showcase the society's Internet banking portal LIVE by JN, demonstrating to patrons of the festival how easy it is to carry out financial transactions via the Internet from anywhere in the world.

"LIVE by JN is an example of green innovation that enables paperless transactions while allowing persons to conduct business outside of the banking hall," Mitchell stated.

Patrons will also be able to view real-time demonstrations of LIVE by JN; and, if they are members of Jamaica National, they will have the opportunity to 'log on' and gain access to the service.

The festival, which starts at 8 a.m., will feature activities for the entire family, including a 'Pickney Park' for the kids, focusing on keeping the environment healthy. The entertainment segment of the festival will be rolled out at 6 p.m., to live music by Stone Love Movements and some of the country's top entertainers, including Stevie Face, Jack Radics, Lady G, Professor Nuts, Lovindeer and many others.
