Cops arrest female pastor - Accused of trying to smuggle contraband

Sheldon williams, STAR Writer

A female pastor is now in police custody after it was alleged that she was caught trying to smuggle contraband into a police lock-up in Clarendon on Sunday.

Information reaching THE STAR is that the woman, who heads a church in the Palmers Cross area of the parish, went to the police station with food for her son who is in custody at the lock-up on a gun-related charge.

Further information suggests she was told that visiting hours had expired, however, she sought the assistance of a senior police officer.

When the food was searched, contraband was reportedly found in a transparent plastic bag hidden at the bottom of the meal.

THE STAR was told that the woman was immediately taken into custody and is booked to appear in the May Pen Resident Magistrate's court this week.
