Bus driver on wounding charge remanded |

|
A bus driver accused of using a knife to inflict wounds to the body of a passenger who was travelling on his bus was remanded when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday. The accused, Mark Savage, 39, from Gordon Town, St Andrew, is to return to court on July 12 for mention. Allegations are that on Friday June 17, the complainant boarded a Toyota Coaster bus, which plies between downtown Kingston and Portmore, St Catherine. Sometime after boarding the bus, an argument developed between himself and the bus conductor. It is alleged that the accused intervened and used a knife to inflict wounds to the complainant's right side. He was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was admitted. The bus driver was later arrested and charged. |
