New trial date for accused robber |

|
August 29 was the trial date set in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's court on Thursday for a man accused of robbing a woman of her cellphone recently. The defendant Andre Small of a Kingston 5 address, charged with simple robbery was offered bail in the sum of $50,000 with surety and will be tried when the matter returns. The Crown is alleging that about 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Small approached the complainant while she was crossing a roadway in the Kingston 6 area, held on to her waist pulling her in fear of her life and robbed her of her Motorolla cellphone. The accused was held by the police a few minutes afterwards and taken to the Matilda's Corner Police Station where he along with the stolen phone were positively identified by the complainant. |
