Another illegal firearm has been added to the tally of those removed from our nation's streets, when a man was accosted in the Lawrence Tavern area of St Andrew yesterday.

Reports from the Lawrence Tavern police are that they were on patrol in Don Castle district, Lawrence Tavern, about 7:50 a.m., when a man was stopped and searched. This was when one Winchester rifle bearing serial number 49163 and 11 rounds of ammunition was found.

The man, who is from the Lawrence Tavern area, has since been arrested, but his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
