A dispute between a couple over child support ended last week with the woman wounding the man. The man is determined to have the woman arrested and charged for wounding him because he believes she had no right to injure him. He said he gives her money every month for the child but the woman is complaining she should get more money. "I am very upset and angry that my child's mother threw a stone and hit me in my forehead, all because I told her I could not afford to give any more money for child support," the man said. "I have never abused this woman although she is always cursing me, and telling me all sorts of unpleasant things. I give her $20,000 monthly for our four-year-old son, but she is insisting that I can afford to give her more money. I told her I have my elderly parents to maintain as well, and so cannot afford to increase the money at the present time. "Last week she came to my house and demanded that I give her more money for the child. I asked her if she wanted me to rob and steal to support her because the money was more than sufficient for the child. "I told her to go and find a work to help to support our child and she became very upset and began to curse me. I began to walk out the yard, and she threw a stone which caught me in my forehead. I had to seek medical attention. assault "Now, this woman has no reason to assault me and I understand that she is boasting about the incident, and is telling her friends that she is coming back to attack me. I made a report to the police pand I am determined that she must be punished for what she did to me. "I am tired of her coming to my house and cursing me, and so a policeman suggested that I could apply to the court for a restraining order against her. Do you think it will work because this woman is very aggressive," he asked. A restraining order will prevent her from coming to your house to curse you or from interfering with you. Court orders must be obeyed . If a person refuses to obey a restraining order an application can be made to the court for the person to be sent to prison for disobeying the order. It would be in her best interest to obey such a order. |
