Rural cricket kinpins St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) aim for their fourth title this season when they take on parish mates Munro College in the final of the ISSA/GraceKennedy rural Under-14 final in Santa Cruz tomorrow.

Leg by their captain Michael Frew's all-round effort, STETHS powered their way into the final with a convincing 85-run win over Manchester High in Mandeville last Friday. Munro, on the other hand, did not even have to face a ball after their opponents Cross Keys High failed to report for the semi-final that was to be played in Malvern.

STETHS were rampant against Manchester, who were bowled out for 63 chasing the 148 for 6 compiled by STETHS in their allocation of maximum 30 overs.

Tomorrow's final is their fifth this season having made it to the knockout final at the start of the season, the Headley Cup, the Spalding Cup and the Under-16 competition. They have so far been successful in three, with their only disappointment coming in the latter won by Manchester High. Hence, yesterday's victory served as revenge.

After being sent in to take first strike, STETHS recovered from the early loss of Darren Dyer for 1 with the score on six, but put together several meaningful partnerships. Captain Michael Frew (56) batting at No. 3 and Tommy Levy (54 not out) both scored attacking half centuries.

With the help of three wickets from pacer Michael Simpson, who took three wickets, Frew then used his off-spin to snare five wickets for five runs as Manchester fell meekly in 22 overs. In fact, a whopping 22 extras, including 14 wides, boosted their score. Only pacer Winston Johnson batting at No. 6, got into double figures with a top score of 16.
