![]() QQ - Contributed Kareem 'QQ' Dawkins recently sat seven CXC subjects for which he is awaiting the results come August. The 17-year-old, who attends Calabar High School, sat Principles of Accounts, History, Spanish, Religious Education, Office Administration, Mathematics and English Language. "I am very anxious," he told The STAR regarding his results. "For the first time I feel confident about Math because it seems like I aced it, hopefully," said QQ as he revealed that he's most confident about Mathematics and least confident about History. When asked what was his worst memory of high school, he revealed that he had lost a fight when he just started school. However, his best memory, he said animatedly, "There's so much. So many good things happen in high school." He then reminisced about "Mango war in seventh grade. The only reason why it was fun was because I got to hit everybody but they would hit everybody else but me," he laughed. On a more serious note, however, he said sixth form was not in his plans, but instead, he hopes to study online at the Florida International University (FIU), where he will do a business course. QQ made reference to our Star of the Month, Assassin, who also obtained a degree. "He influences me. As a musician he still maintains his balance of doing entertainment and school. His lyrical content is very mature and some people say it's hard to understand, but you have to be mature to get it and you can also learn from that," he expressed. need motivation Apart from school and music, QQ had no problem talking about his personal life as he boldly admitted to having a girlfriend who turns 18 in August. Describing their relationship briefly, QQ says he likes "her personality ... and sometimes I need motivation and I can turn to her." But how does QQ manage to juggle school, music and a girlfriend? To this he replied, "She's very understanding and she knows what is priority." He explained that some people still looked at him as little QQ, while for those persons he's not sure about, he's hoping they haven't continued viewing him as a child. Now that school is over with, QQ intends to focus more on his music. He recently completed a new single, All I Need, which was produced by Lanz on the Barbie Dove rhythm. All I Need "is about a girl you really want and then you got her. But then she hurt you. So you telling her to pack her things and don't slam your door," he explained. QQ's latest work is on dance tracks such as Cowfoot featuring Chi Chi Ching and Shelly Belly, and Splice. He also has another track titled In Your Eyes, produced by Rebel T and Quick Mix. Apart from shows that are currently in negotiation, QQ is already booked for shows on June 25 in Brown's Town, July 1, in Ewarton, Heatwave (part of the ATI weekend) and his annual Family Funfest at the Golden Spring Community Centre on August 6. He then leaves for New York to do a promotional six-week tour. |
