Dear Pastor,

This will be my first year as a father. I have a nine-month-old daughter. As a new father, I now realise that a father is someone who is loving, nurturing, strict and understanding.

My father has all these qualities and more. My father is the best father. I have never needed anything in my life. My father has provided for me by making sure that I got a good education, food to eat, clothes to wear and shelter. During the holidays, I would go to the country with my father. That has helped me to be the father I aspire to be.

My goal in life at the very least is to be like my father and treat my daughter the way he used to treat me.

I pray that God will indeed grant you wisdom as you endeavour to be a good father. Let your daughter grow up and see that you love her mother with all your heart and soul. And she will in return love you. Remember that children live what they learn.
