MEN FIGHT AT CREDIT UNION |
|||||
|
Security officers, staff members, family and customers had to step in to quell a heated dispute yesterday between a returning resident and another man at a credit union in Kingston. About 11 a.m., persons inside the credit union were stunned by the sudden outburst made by the men who were standing in the same line waiting to transact business. Information reaching THE STAR is that the dispute that lasted about 25 minutes resulted from a long-standing dispute that saw one of the men running away from his Seaview Gardens community. "Yuh nuh see yuh affi run whey cause yuh no deal wid yuh father good," said a woman who stepped in to defend the returning resident. THE STAR understands that the returning resident has been living in the Cayman Islands for a number of years and just returned to the island last week. knife "Yuh see how long mi lef yah, if mi did eva have mi knife today mi stab yuh up, mi must kill yuh," he said. "How long yuh lef yah, the amount a money yuh have ina yuh account cyan even bury yuh," replied the other man. Customers inside the bank became horrified. This led security officers to make demands for the men to leave. Only the returning resident stepped outside but he soon returned angrier than before. "Wait man, mi mus kill him, a cause me nah get nobody pan di phone," he shouted. The other man who seemed to have had enough of the tough talk suddenly grabbed the barrier, separating the line, however, he was restrained by some of the customers before he could throw it. By this time some of the other customers began pleading with the tellers to summon the police but they too were shocked and confused by the drama that had unfolded. Meanwhile, the dispute was put to rest when the other man left the institution. |
