Having got his professional start in music in 1998 when he entered the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission competition with the song Higher Ground, in recent days his prophecy is close to being fulfilled.

After the competition, the conscious-singing Prophecy worked with late producer Sir Coxsone Dodd for four years, during which he said he learnt much of what he now knows. "It was great (the competition). It took me nationwide man, from mi bathroom to all parishes. I reached the finals but didn't win, but that still propelled me," Prophecy told The STAR.

Describing his music as world music, Prophecy said he hopes to encourage listeners with the messages and proverbs it contains. "My music is a strength, enuh. It goes beyond Tivoli, Jamaica, to Libya and Syria. Right now people accept my voice and I'm trying to create a conscious mindset throughout. I'm just trying to play my part and to reach the four corners of the Earth," he said.

There have been several highlights of his career thus far. He said 2002 was a great year for him as he journeyed to South Africa where he did several AIDS-awareness concerts in places such as Johannesburg and Pretoria alongside artistes such as Morgan Heritage, Chaka Demus, and Pliers.

He is busy working on his upcoming album titled Break Loose. Songs such as Fight The Fight, Don't Come Tell Mi, and No Body Bags will be featured on it.

"It (the album) has a nice vibes because my thing always positive. I'm just continuing the tradition set by some of the greats like Bob Marley," he said.
