A St Catherine woman who was shot and injured by criminals yesterday remained in hospital up to news time last night.

The Spanish Town police said that about 1a.m., on Monday, the woman was inside her yard along French Street which housed a cookshop.

A group of men walked up, fired a shot which hit the woman on her upper body.

She was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital and admitted.

The police in Spanish Town are conducting investigation into the matter.

While no motives have been established, the police are keeping a watch on the area.
