Cash Plus fraud trial put off
Barbara Gayle, Staff Reporter

The fraud trial of former Cash Plus boss Carlos Hill has been put off to November 21.

It should have got under way in the Home Circuit Court today, but was put off because his lawyer, Valerie Neita-Robertson is involved in another matter in the same court.

Hill has been out on a $15 million bail.

The former Cash Plus boss is charged with fraudulently inducing persons to invest in his investment scheme.

The offence carries a maximum sentence of seven years' imprisonment.

Carlos Hill is charged jointly with his brother Bertram, and Peter Wilson, the former chief financial officer of Cash Plus.

The Hill brothers and Wilson are also charged with obtaining money by false pretence, conspiracy to defraud and fraudulent conversion.

They were charged in April 2008 following the collapse of Cash Plus.
