A man who has been charged with housebreaking was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday. He is 40-year-old Oral Graham, a mason of a Kingston 7 address. Graham is to return to court on June 17 for sentencing. Allegations are that on June 4 about 11:30 a.m., the complainant and his wife left home for church and then went by his mother's house. It is alleged that while the complainant was at his mother's house he was informed by his niece that she saw someone walking behind his house. It is further alleged that when the complainant went to his house, he found his back door open and one of his locks damaged. Graham was reportedly seen in the complainant's bedroom searching several drawers. The matter was reported to the police and Graham was arrested and charged. In the meantime, Graham, who was on bail, was remanded by Resident Magistrate (RM) Judith Pusey, when he was asked if this was his first offence. The accused informed the RM that he is on a one-year sentence that has been suspended for three years for a similar offence. RM Pusey postponed Graham's sentencing in an effort to view his criminal records. |
