Accused woman gets bail extended

A 46-year-old woman who has been accused of beating a 15-year-old student had her bail extended in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

She is Ann Hardy, a baker from a St Catherine address, who has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

Hardy is to return to court on July 1 for trial. Allegations are that on April 2 around 7 p.m., the complainant, a student, and the accused were at the Boys and Girls' Athletics Champion-ships at the National Stadium when a dispute developed between them.

It is alleged that during the dispute, the accused used her hand to slap the complainant across her upper body causing bruises to her neck, and nostrils and a swollen right thumb. It is also alleged that the accused was kicked in her chest.
