Guard charged with wounding remanded |

|
A security guard who has been charged with wounding with intent was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday. He is 47-year-old Ali Whyte from Mountain View Avenue, Kingston 2. Whyte is to return to court on June 15 when the matter will be mentioned as the file is incomplete. Allegations are that on May 26, about 9 a.m, the complainant was using a pipe in an outside bathroom in a tenement yard when the accused became disagreeable and boisterous. An argument reportedly developed. It is alleged that during the argument, the accused attacked the complainant with a machete, which he used to inflict wounds to the neck, left shoulder and head. The complainant was reportedly rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where she was admitted in serious condition. The accused was arrested and charged. |
