89-Y-O ON FRAUD CHARGE - Grandpa accused of conning woman of money

A 89-year-old man who has been charged with larceny by trick, had his bail extended in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

He is Byron Coore of a St Andrew address. Coore is to return to court on July 7, when the matter will be mentioned, as the file is incomplete.

Allegations are that on April 6 about 4 p.m., Coore took $15,000 from the complainant promising to provide her with a valid driver's licence.

However, the accused told the court that he took money to provide the complainant with driving lessons.

In the meantime, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey ordered the accused to bring the money to court on the next court date.
