Jamaica moving backwards

with Miss Kitty

The more things change the more dem remain di same because it jus' seems like dah country yah a flex backway like a land crab!

It is unbelievable seh we mek so many steps forward yet the country continue to spiral downward because we a drop di ketch pon certain basic tings. No weh no perfect but we mus can look fi emulate someweh weh di people dem a try. Dem seh di govament and leaders of a country reflect the hearts and the kinda people wah live deh an mi naa tell no lie if dat deh statement deh hol wata which mi tink so, wi condition waa some shampoo!

See it deh we get some heavy rainfall fi di pass two weeks and unnu mus see di grave dem inna di road wah mek it look like rain a fall since di year start! To how sum a di hole dem deep if yuh listen good yuh can hear di people dem a hell a bawl out! Wen mi see di condition a di road and how much taxpayer haffi fork out fi road maintenance there is no doubt in my mind seh we naa get value fi we money! Dem a rob we!

Dem pave a di road dis week an by next month it mash up an is like nobody is being held accountable! How can a contractor jus' do a piece a road and before di colour a di asphalt change di road a mash up...wah can go so?! Mi no hear nobody a go a jail or being fined for shoddy work a jus' we haffi a put up wid di slackness! Dem a clamour fi people pay tax an mi no have a problem but wah it a use do? How we a pay and naa benefit from it? How we a live so?

When u talk bout land crab yuh talk bout we light company. Now we live in a tropical climate which mean seh rain MUS' fall yet as soon as likkle rain set up light gone! Dem lock it off without notice and send it back without warning an when it mash up yuh appliance dem there is no redress an even if there is, di long go roun an come roun an letta writing like is a essay competition an it haffi go to dat department an to dat person di whole a yuh teet dem drop out an gray hair full yuh an yuh tings still no fix or dem tell yuh they won't be able fi sekkle yuh claim!

Dah place yah wi mek any Christian cuss! Yuh call all fi dem 'Customer Care' line an yuh hol' on fi life an not a body ansa di phone an when dem do ansa dem put yuh pon hol fi wait again! Unnu no see dem tek we fi claffy?!

dem jus' slap dash it an lef it

Wata is life but when dem dig up di road an lef di big pothole dem all a people gate it can cost life! Dem always have a pipe fi fix and someting to do yet when dem done dem don't fix back di road how dem see it, dem jus' slap dash it an lef it fi di citizens have it fi deal wid. Mi always notice seh di biggest wata operation dem tek place pon Sunday when people deh home a try cook an wash an sort out dem family - a dem time deh yuh hear "wata gone"! When it a 'gone' to enuh a di whole day an by time it do start fi trickle back Sunday done! Mi no seh yuh won't have emergencies but fi always have one pon weekend when people deh home look fishy! Mi a wonda if dem pay double an triple time pon weekend why dem choose fi come disrupt people life! It no nice.

Everybody know seh hurricane season start June 1 every year anno like a June 1 dis year an nex year it ago change so can somebody please tell mi why dem always wait pon di rain fi start before dem clean di gully an di drain dem?! It woulda mek more sense to me fi clean dem before di rain start fi ease off sum a di devastation an cost pon people pocket. But it all bwoil dung to seh di who is who dem can mek more money inna di rain when dem tractor spend hours pon a job site. But it cyaa be dat in di aid of growing some people pocket, di lives and property of others are sacrificed!

But anedda side to it is di people dem who buil' pon di gully bank or right inna di wata path and den waa blame everybody when problem tek dem! Yuh cyaa buil' inna di drainage path an block up di place an when dun yuh waa blame everybody else except yuhself.

Certain dutty tings wah people get weh wid a Jamaica need to be curbed an stopped in order fi di country grow so dat generations to come will have somewhere to call home. A no everybody can run weh an is not everybody waa run weh but if we can buil' multi-million dolla road we can at least start fix di one dem wah we have already!
