Rohan Marley has confirmed that he is not the father of American singer Lauryn Hill's sixth child.

Speaking with The STAR yesterday Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley, cleared the air about rumours circulating online as to whether he was the father. Hill revealed recently she was pregnant at a concert in Detroit's Chene Park.

The singer was known as the front woman of the Fugees alongside Wyclef Jean and rapper Pras. Following success with the Fugees, Hill released her debut album The Mis-Education Of Lauryn Hill in 1998, which won her five Grammys. But following her huge success, Hill chose to take a break from the music industry, making brief returns to the stage until last year.

Marley and Hill have five children together Zion, 14, Selah, 13, Joshua, 9, John, 8 and three-year-old Sarah. When Hill announced that she was expecting again, rumours began circulating that Marley was the child's father.

Shortly after the news broke, however, Marley hinted on his Twitter page that he was not the unborn child's father. According to www.dailymail.co.uk, in a Twitter conversation with The Houston Chronicle, Marley tweeted, "two things ... I'm not married and I don't have anyone expecting anything." The tweets have since been removed from Twitter.

Speaking to The STAR yesterday the businessman was reluctant to discuss the situation. However, in regards to reports on the Internet about the pregnancy, Marley said, "I told them that I wasn't the father of Ms Hill's current situation. They kept saying I was married to my previous relation prior to Lauryn.

So I responded, 'I'm not married and I have no one expecting anything,' that's what I said. We have a great relationship but unfortunately we've gone separate ways in regards to having more children together." According to www.dailymail.co.uk, Marley and Hill reportedly started their large family while Marley was still married to his first wife Geraldine Khawly - who he has a son and daughter with. Marley cleared that rumour as well, stating that he has been officially divorced since 1996. He said, "I divorce that woman in 1996 before I met Lauryn, I got involved with Lauryn, I showed her that document just because I knew this would come up. I wonder why the folks that they claim I'm married to have never once said that? Why hasn't Lauryn ever said such a thing?"

Marley is the co-founder of the Tuff Gong Clothing line. In 2007, he co-founded Marley Coffee, an organic coffee plantation and sustainable farming business in the Blue Mountain.
