Bail extension for alleged document forgers

Two men who have been charged with uttering forged documents had their bails extended in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

They are 52-year-old Vernon Nixon and 38-year-old Dave Gordon, both from St Catherine addresses.

Nixon and Gordon will have to return to court on July 20, when the matter will be mentioned as the file is incomplete.

Nixon has been charged with three counts of conspiracy to deceive and uttering forged documents; while Gordon has been charged with conspiracy, forgery and uttering forged documents.

Allegations are that between August 13 and 25, 2010, both men tried to unlawfully recover motor vehicles that were seized by the Revenue Protection Division on behalf of five owners.

It is alleged that the documents were examined and it was discovered that the documents that were submitted by the accused men had several discrepancies.

Both Nixon and Gordon were arrested and charged.
