Chinese faces court for breaching Customs Act
A Chinese national charged with breaching the Customs Act and misleading and deceptive conduct was granted bail at the sum of $80,000 when she appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

She is Weidi Gu, 40, from Charlemont Avenue, Kingston 6, who is to return to court on July 13 when the matter will be mentioned.

Allegations are that on Wednesday June 1, about 11 a.m., the police carried out an operation at Weidi's Wholesale and Retail located in Papine, St Andrew.

During the operation, a search was conducted and 22 cartons and 14 packs of assorted cigarettes were found.

Further allegations are that the cigarettes did not appear to be properly labelled.
