Cocoa Tea asks 'Weh De Reggae Deh?'

Reggae superstar Cocoa Tea will be releasing his next full-length set Weh De Reggae Deh? next year to coincide with his scheduled performances in London, England during the 2012 Olympic Games.

In the meantime, he is busy promoting the lead single from the album, a lover's rock classic called A Love Like Yours and Mine that is getting a lot of rotation on local FM radio and from sound-system selectors at dances.

In the song, Cocoa Tea croons:

'A love like yours and mine

Woman is so very hard to find

It's like the ray of the midday sunshine

I thank Jah you are mine'

There are plans to shoot a video for the single this summer as well. "It is strictly for the ladies...it's time to get the ladies back in my corner, we're going all out with this one," Cocoa Tea said.

The singer, who is known for the classic love songs She Loves Me Now and Good Life, is excited about the project, Whe De Reggae Deh? because it touches on a topic close to his heart, the overall decline in the quality of reggae music on the island's airwaves.

"Everywhere I go in the world, people ask me where the reggae gone from in Jamaica. People are saying we are trying to export hip hop, rather than import hip hop and export reggae," noted the singer. He said that the artistes and producers have strayed too far from their traditional roots and the resulting stampede has created discordant music to the ears of reggae lovers worldwide.
