The St Catherine South Traffic Department is still conducting investigations into the death of a motorcyclist along Dyke Road on Saturday.

He has been identified as Ted Lloyd Harris of Portmore.

Reports are that about 11:30 a.m. Harris was riding his motorcycle on Dyke Road.

A Toyota Hiace, which was said to have been travelling in the opposite direction, reportedly got out of control and ran into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.

Police said the impact threw Harris off the bike. He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The PORTMORE STAR learnt that the ill-fated Toyota vehicle was chasing a vehicle when the accident occurred.

Further investigations are being conducted by the Portmore police.
