38-y-o faces court for burning lover's belongings |

A man who set fire to his girlfriend's belongings because he believed she was having an affair with a neighbour is to pay her $50,000 the next time he appears in court. He is Harold White, 38, from Waltham Park, Kingston 11, who is to return to court on June 8 for sentencing. Allegations are that on Sunday May 8, the complainant left the home that she shared with her boyfriend to visit a family member. Before doing so, however, she stopped to speak with a friend outside. After their conversation ended she proceeded to walk down the road when she was approached by the accused who allegedly told her, "Come fi yuh tings dem." cheating Further allegations are that she hissed her teeth and continued walking, but when she reached the bus stop she decided to turn back. Upon reaching the house, she saw the accused tearing up her clothes. When she went around the back of the yard she saw more of her belongings on fire. The complainant told the court that she and the accused were living together for a month. Further, she said she had gathered information that he had been cheating on her. She also said that when the incident happened she had already started moving her things out the house because of his infidelity. |
