An illegal firearm was on Wednesday seized by the police and a man taken into custody at White Lane in Naggo Head, THE PORTMORE STAR has learnt.

His identity is being withheld pending further investigations, the police said.

Reports reaching THE PORTMORE STAR from the Bridgeport police are that about 11:15 a.m., lawmen responded to reports of shots being fired in the White Lane community. The police said that upon their arrival, the man was accosted and searched. The weapon, a .38 Bryco 58 semi-automatic pistol, serial number 983122, along with three .38 rounds of ammunition was found in his possession.

He was taken into custody. Investigations continue.
