Star Tell Me Pastor

Lonely nights

Dear Pastor,

First, let me big you up on the wonderful work you're doing. I have a problem. I am in a relationship with a man who is 17 years my senior.

We met two years ago while he was on vacation in Jamaica and we fell in love. He even overstayed his time. Before he left, I told him I was scared that he wouldn't talk to me again after he went back home. He told me he wouldn't do that and, until this day, he has kept his promise.

My problem is I am really lonely at times and even think about moving on. I really love him and I don't want to lose him. He loves me just the same. He has proven it on several occasions. He comes to see me every chance he gets, but he always says he can't always do it because he wants to keep his job. I asked him if he has any intention to come back to Jamaica to live, he always says yes but I don't see him making any effort to do so.

Please, give me your fatherly advice.

Lonely Girlfriend, St James

Dear Lonely Girlfriend,

If you truly love this man, you should remain faithful to him. However, you should ask him whether he is planning to get married to you, and when. You should not take it for granted that he will. You should not just remain his girlfriend. You need to become his wife.

I wish you well. May God bless you.

Pastor
