Another student in custody for stabbing

Another male student is in police custody after he reportedly stabbed one of his schoolmates on Wednesday at the Balaclava High School in St Elizabeth.

It is reported that the two students, both 17, had a confrontation at the school gate when when one allegedly used a ratchet knife to stab the other. He was rushed to the hospital.

The alleged attacker was later apprehended from a bus plying the Balaclava to Santa Cruz route.

Since Monday, this is the second public school that has been rocked by a violent incident.

On Tuesday, 16-year-old Haig Williams from New Green in Mandeville was stabbed to death at the Cross Keys High School in Manchester.

Reports said during lunch, Williams was attacked by three boys, one of who used a knife to stab him.

He was pronounced dead at the Mandeville Regional Hospital. The three students are in police custody.
