Brother charged with murder

The man accused of stabbing his brother to death two Saturdays ago in Mavis Bank, St Andrew, before trying to poison himself with insecticide has been charged with murder.

He is 22-year-old Kadian Gordon from a Mavis Bank address.

According to police reports, the accused and his brother, Marvin Gordon, a farmer from Davis Hill district, Mavis Bank, were at a shop in the district playing dominoes about 1 a.m., when they got into an altercation. A ratchet knife was used to stab Marvin in the chest, killing him on the spot.

It is further reported that Kadian fled and ingested a poisonous substance.

Residents later found him, administered first aid and took him to the hospital where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.

Kadian is now in the custody of the St Andrew North police.
