Star Tell Me Pastor

Driving me up the wall!

Dear Pastor,

I have been a married woman for 20 years and I have five children. My husband and I have lived happily. I am a Christian but he is not. Suddenly, my husband has become very bad. For a long time, he was saving to buy a car. since he bought it, he has been sporting with young girls.

I caught my husband and a young girl having sex in his car. when I tried to beat her, my husband defended her. Sometimes he does watchman work at nights. when he doesn't have to work, he lies and says he is at work. Sometimes, for a whole month my husband doesn't touch me. He says he is tired. Sometimes girls send him texts, telling him what he should do with me because I am old and washed up. I have made up my mind to divorce him because I want to live a clean and decent life.

V.G., Clarendon

Dear V.G.,

This man is wrecking his life and his marriage. These girls are going to make him poorer than he is now. They will bring him done to nothing. The car is going to get old and his body is going to deteriorate faster than the vehicle, at the rate he is going. He is a silly man.

No intelligent man would allow another woman to abuse and disrespect his wife. if he had any respect for his children, he wouldn't openly associate himself with these careless girls.

I am not sure that divorcing him is the correct thing to do at this time. What you probably should do is to ask him to go with you to see a family counsellor, or to your local pastor. Don't get into any fight or argument with any of these girls. If your husband refuses to go for counselling, I suggest you see a lawyer. always remember, divorce is last resort.
