Scores of Clarendon residents turned up to welcome the Irie FM In Di Area promotion tour when it made its stop in that parish recently.

The residents, who came with their umbrellas to shelter from the broiling sun, were treated to giveaways and an entertainment package fit for any major dancehall stage show inside the Bargain Village shopping complex, May Pen.

Early on during the show, patrons who turned up were treated to an entertaining set by Ce'Cile who rocked the crowd with her hits and had them laughing with the help of the comedic duo, Ity and Fancy Cat.

After her performance, Ity and Fancy Cat kept the crowd laughing with their antics and giveaways from one of the Irie FM In Di Area main sponsor, Courts.

This segment of the show was followed with competitions that were also sponsored by the different sponsors of the promotional tour. Perhaps the most entertaining of these competitions wasThe STAR-sponsored Fluffy vs Slim Girl Walkout. This had the crowd raving for the 'Fluffy' girls who took to the stage and outdid their leaner competitors.

did not disappoint

But the jam-packed entertainment show did not end there, as artistes billed for the show kept the audience glued in the sun to witness their performances.

First up was new member of the dancehall fraternity Chan Dizzy, followed by Tifa who had the females in the crowd waving and singing her songs word for word.

It was then the first lady's turn to take the stage, and D'Angel did not disappoint as she took the audience on a journey, firing off hit after hit.

D'Angel made way for Khago, who showed his versatility as not just a deejay, but also as a talented singer.

When Konshens took to the stage, the crowd had already been thoroughly entertained by the previous artistes. But they did not leave, and calls for Konshens to remain onstage was echoed over and over and he did not disappoint his fans. He reeled of new tunes and old favourites like Winner and Gal Dem a Talk to his captive audience.

After his performance, the show was brought to an end and the Irie FM team, along with the artistes, left May Pen to head into St Catherine where they did it all over again.
