Police seek suspects involved in shootings

The police in St Catherine are still searching for person(s) who are responsible for two shooting incidents including a murder within a 12-hour period.

About 7 a.m. yesterday, two men were walking along Terminal Road, Old Harbour Bay, St Catherine, when they were reportedly pounced upon by a group of men who shot them repeatedly.The men escaped.

The injured were taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where they were hospitalised in serious condition.

This incident followed the fatal shooting of a man, identified as 'Ricky', near the Iron Bridge in Spanish Town, St Catherine, about 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Police reports are that he was walking along the road when he was approached by a man who fired shots killing him on the spot.

Senior police personnel in the parish said the attack on the men will not dampen their spirits in their fight against crime and dismantling of gangs throughout the parish.
