The mothers who took part in several online competitions hosted by the telecommunications company, won various prizes such as Mother's Day brunch for themselves and their families, gift baskets and handsets with call credits. Commenting on the company's activities, public relations manager, Jacqueline Burrell-Clarke, noted that Digicel is delighted to show its appreciation for Jamaica's mothers. Said Burrell-Clarke: "Digicel understands the value of good communication, and our mothers for the most part are at the foundation of effective communication in many Jamaican homes. Doing these online competitions is only one of our many ways to express gratitude to all the mothers out there who have paved the way for thousands of Jamaican children and adults - all of whom are helping to make a better Jamaica." The company ran a series of photo and poetry competitions on its Facebook, Twitter and blog pages. The entries to each competition were extremely high, and the quality of subscriptions well put together. The prizes included three Mother's Day brunches for four at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel, three $12,000 gift baskets loaded with feminine goodies from Fabulous Gifts, and Nokia C3 handsets with call credits. |
