In the heart of the conflict

It is still not clear as to the exact circumstances which led to the physical altercation between a female reveller and a security guard during Sunday's Carnival Road March. However, what was quite evident was a large bruise on the face of the female reveller, and the security guard being whisked away by his colleagues.

At 4 p.m., as the parade was in full swing, people were seen running to the truck where a tussle ensued between a security guard and a female reveller.

big bruise

The selector could be heard calling police officers and security personnel to report to the truck to restore order to the proceeding as the woman, who declined to reveal her name to THE WEEKEND STAR, was seen crying with what appeared to be a big bruise on her face, which was alleged to have been received at the hands of a security guard.

According to the female, she was dancing in the band, and the security personnel, who was in charge of directing the crowd, made advances at her that she did not allow. This resistance by the female led to an argument between herself and the guard which resulted in her being punched in the face and kicked several times.

It was then that other revellers sought to intervene in the squabble and the security guard made an exit from the location.

injured

The act sparked much anger from some members of the band who then set out with the alleged victim to find the security guard. He was later found at the opposite end of the parade. Upon seeing the security guard, the injured female along with some of her angry friends then proceeded to inflict punches to the body of the security guard who had to be rescued and whisked away by other security guards.

The female was later taken away for treatment by an ambulance attached to the Heart institute medical service.

Other members on location who were attached to the same security company, were reluctant to give comments on the matter, maintaining that they did not know what caused the altercation between their colleague and the female.
