Four charged for illegal cable connection

The police say that charges have been laid against four persons for tampering with the network of two cable companies and setting up their own operation.

All four persons have been charged with breaches of the Telecommunication Act.

They are 48-year-old Fabian Thompson of Ensom Crescent, Spanish Town, St Catherine; 30-year-old Damian Anderson of Barbican Road, Kingston 6; and 32-year-old Hermon Dickson of Old Hope Road, Kingston 6.

The name of the fourth person is being withheld pending further investigations.

The police say that while conducting operations it detected illegal connections to two cable companies in St Andrew and Spanish Town, St Catherine.

It is reported that a number of equipment, including 34 analogue cable boxes, four digital cable boxes and four computer hard drives were seized in the operation.

Following further investigations the four persons were arrested and charged.
