Retailer gets new court date |

|
A chinese businesswoman charged with breaches of the Trademark Act will return to court on June 14 when the matter will again be mentioned. Mei He Helen, 38, of 10A Worthington Tower, Kingston 5, appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday to answer to the charges. Allegations are that the complainant has a brand of lotion called Ashley's that her company Ashley's Trading manufactures. She named the product after her company which sells and imports cosmetics products. It is alleged that a customer came to her shop asking how it was that she got the same brand of lotion cheaper elsewhere. The complainant realised that the design of the lotion bottle was similar to her design. A report was later made at the Organised Crime Investigation Division (OCID). A raid was carried out by members of the OCID and 100 Wistful body lotion suspected to be counterfeit were seized. |
