A tattoo artist accused of breaching the Child Care and Protection Act was remanded when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday. He is Ricardo Williams, 29, from a Kingston 20 address. Williams is to return to court on May 2 when the matter will be mentioned. Allegations are that, on April 29 about 3:30 a.m., a security guard saw a four-year-old boy along Washington Boulevard waving down a vehicle. He was taken to the Half-Way Tree Police Station by the guard where he was handed over. In his defence, the accused told the court that he had left the child to purchase painkillers at a nearby store because he was having a headache. Further, he said that the child had squeezed his way through the grill as both the front and back grills to the premises were locked. He also told the court that he would not intentionally cause any harm to the child who is his first and only son. |
