COPS HALT MATIE WAR

Two women involved in a fight over a man pleaded guilty before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

They are Stephanie Davis, 26, a customer service representative from Kingston 20, and Oschae Bennett, 24, unemployed of Lyndhurst Road, Kingston.

The two, who are charged with assault, are to return to court for sentencing on June 6.

Allegations are that on March 31, Bennett used a board to hit Davis resulting in a swollen hand and a broken finger while Davis used her slippers to hit Bennett causing pain and swelling.

It is alleged that the landlord heard about the constant commotion and requested that they both discuss the matter in a civil manner.

The court heard that it was at this point that Bennett approached Davis with a board and hit her with it, at which point Davis used her slippers to defend herself.

A crowd saw the commotion and intervened in the matter and the police were called and both were arrested and charged on April 1.
