A motor vehicle accident along the Laughing Waters main road in St Ann on Monday evening claimed the lives of two men after the car in which they were travelling got out of control and slammed into a utility pole.

The men have been identified as 17-year-old Rohan Irons and 20-year-old Rolando Mignott both of Parry Town in Ocho Rios. A 43-year-old man was also injured in the accident has been admitted to hospital.

Reports are that about 4:40 p.m. the men were returning home from a kite festival in the parish when on reaching the vicinity of Laughing Waters, Mignott, who was the driver, lost control of the vehicle.

Additional information gathered from the St Ann's Bay police is that the vehicle ran off the road and collided with a light pole and then overturned.

The men were flung from the vehicle and Irons died on the spot.
