Church is my life |

![]() ![]() Christine McLean-Davey GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer Christine McLean-Davey of the Emmanuel Hope Restored Church of God at Chudleigh in Manchester says it's a wonderful thing to know God for oneself. Although it has been three years since the Sunday school teacher and choir instructor surrendered her life to the Lord, McLean-Davey loves God and church has become her life. "Church is my life. Being in the church I have gained wisdom, knowledge and understanding. It has given me a good sense of morals, where when I go into the wider society I know how to conduct myself and know how to communicate with persons," said the Sunday school teacher. Describing the kind of individual she was before, McLean-Davey said she was the kind who loved to attend parties, enjoyed travelling, liked to wear short clothing and was engaged in fashionable things. But now that she is in the church, she said all that has been thrown out window because the Lord has transformed her in a mighty way. She added that although she liked to party, now that she has been saved she does not miss the merrymaking. "I do not miss those things. I have come to realise that those things I was engaged in out there were not as much fun like I have now in the church. I enjoy being in church now and I would like to encourage everybody, every young persons to come into the church, because it helps and teaches you a lot," said McLean-Davey. The Christian pointed out that since she gave her life to God, there has been several occasions when she felt like giving up. She added that there have been times when she had gone out and felt like she wanted to be in certain groups, but after giving much thought she realised that that was not worth it. Her favourite Bible verse she said is, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding." "That is my favourite verse because years ago when I wanted to go to college and all of that, I said, 'Lord, how am I going to go and my mother does not have any money'. But when I attended fasting one day, the minister ministered to me and said the Lord was going to work something out for me. Not long after, the Lord opened three doors for me," testified McLean-Davey. She married to Warren Davey and has two sons, Jerdano and Donte. McLean-Davey loves what she does for the Lord and would not give it up for anything. She wants all young people who are not yet saved to get a taste of Christ and salvation, and added that should they do so, they will never regret it. Feedback: pehenrya@hotmail.com |
