Crystal Harrison, Star Writer A fight involving a current and a past student of a prominent girls school in the Corporate Area yesterday resulted in injuries to both. THE STAR understands that the incident reportedly occurred about 3 p.m, along a busy thoroughfare near the school. It is alleged that the fight started after a third-form student of the school called her older sister who is a past student of the same institution to settle a friction she had with another third former. According to police reports, the older sister who is an 18-year-old university student and the 15-year-old third-form student got into an altercation. It is reported that both individuals received knife inflicted injuries to the neck. When THE STAR visited the school yesterday afternoon, an administrative staff member could only confirm the incident. In the meantime, an attempt to get a comment from the school was futile, as we were told that the principal had left for the hospital. not life threatening However, when THE STAR made contact with the dean of discipline he said the injuries were not life threatening, and that both victims were being treated at separate hospitals. "I am not sure what caused the fight, but the matter is being investigated. In the meantime, we have called in some of the parents to have a meeting. The last time I made some checks I found out that the girls should be released tonight from hospital." The police are investigating. |
