Police on Saturday arrested a woman who was reportedly held with $25,000 worth of clothes in her tights after she left a clothing store in Harbour View, Kingston 17.

The Star understands that Chantal Brown skilfully disguised the clothing so much she almost got away had it not been for a very observant store manager and a swift security guard.

Brown has been charged with simple larceny.

Police said about 4:15 p.m., Brown and three other people entered a store and went into the fitting room to try on a few clothing items. A manager from a neighbouring store came into the boutique demanding items that were taken from her store.

"Weh mi goods dem deh, weh mi goods dem deh," the store owner reportedly said to the woman's accomplices.

It is further reported that when Brown heard the commotion, she ran from the store but was chased and held by a security officer.

It is reported that the items taken from Brown's tights included five ladies' pants, three men's shirts, two tights, one skirt and three dresses.

It is alleged that the woman who was caught trying to enter a minibus, she had driven to the area and had other stolen items in the vehicle. The police say a large quantity of tin foods, among other items, were found.

The three other accomplices escaped and the minibus was seized. The Harbour View police are investigating.
