The Jamaica Constabulary Force says there is a significant increase in operational output for the first quarter of 2011 when compared with the similar period last year.

According to the police, mobile patrols totalled 72,488 for the first quarter, moving from 69,903 patrols in 2010.

Interestingly, in 2010 there were three curfews compared with 325 curfews for the period this year.

Foot and mobile patrols have increased by 100 per cent in the first quarter. In 2010, there were 1,073 joint patrols compared with 2,125 joint patrols for the first quarter of this year.

In addition, the police say that the number of raids have increase to 36,079 compared to a 27,207 raids in the first quarter of 2010.
