Holland snap Kinloss run

Holland snapped Kinloss' six-game unbeaten run in the 2010-11 National Rums of Jamaica Trelawny Major Football League on Tuesday, emerging 2-0 winners in their seventh round fixtures, which was played at Kinloss' home turf.

In arguably one of the better games to date in the 12-team competition, Holland secured their fourth goal of the season courtesy of goals by Kastland Palmer and Omar Scott, who scored in the 14th and 81st minutes, respectively.

By virtue of their win, the Holland team, who started the game in fifth place on nine points, has moved up into joint third place with Palmento on 12 points and former parish champions Invaders. Despite their loss, the Kinloss team remain sole leaders of the competition with 19 points.

In their game against Classic, which was also played on Tuesday, the Invaders were in rampant form, running out impressive 5-0 winners of the game, which was played at Bunkers Hill Community Centre. The win was Invaders third of the season.

Omar Williams, who struck twice in the 20th and 36th minutes, Kev Campbell scoring in the 25th and 41st minutes and Roy-dean Thomas, who got the game's opening goal in the 14th minute were the players on target for Invaders.

In other games played since the start of the week, Palmento blanked Spicy Hill 2-0 on Sunday and on Monday, Jackson Town upstaged neighbours Clarke's Town 4-2.

In their game against Spicy Hill, the Palmento team secured their win courtesy of goals by Allian Morgan and Dwayne Cole. Morgan gave them the lead in the 12th minute and Cole sealed the issue in the 81st minute.

In their game, the Jackson Town team secured their win through goals from Liovanni Downer in the 48th and 78th minutes Stephie Johnson in the 17th and Giovanni Buckle in the 89th minute. Cornel Robinson in the 15th minute and Odain Peart in the 66th minute got the goals for Clarke's Town.
