One man was shot dead and a 12-year-old boy shot and injured in Bucknor district, Clarendon, yesterday, police told THE WEEKEND STAR.

The dead man has been identified by police as 21-year-old Shamar Lachman of a Rectory Road address, also in Bucknor district.

According to information reaching THE WEEKEND STAR from the May Pen CIB, about 7:50 a.m., Lachman was at a premises on the Bucknor main road when the driver of a motor car approached the property.

The police reported that four armed men reportedly alighted from the motor car and Lachman ran from the premises but was chased and shot several times.

Lachman and the boy who was shot were taken to hospital where Lachman was pronounced dead and the boy admitted.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing, the police said.
