CHAMPS STARS

Name: Odean Skeen

School: Wolmer's Boys'

D.O.B: August 28, 1994

Class: One

Events: 100m, 4x100m relay

Last year's performance: First in Class Two 100 and 200 metres

Expectations: To finish among the medals in my events

Main rivals: My teammate Julian Forte

Comment: Skeen had a glorious season last year as he was unbeaten at Champs and he went on to represent the country with great results at the Carifta Games, Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Championships, World Junior and World Youth Olympic Games where he sped to a personal best 10.42 seconds and a gold medal in Singapore. Has been dogged by injury this season, however, but once he reports to the start his 100 metres clash with teammate Forte, Bridgeport High's Jahzeel Murphy and Delano Williams of Munro College should be one of the highlights of the championships.

Name: Chris-Ann Gordon

School: Holmwood Technical

D.O.B: September 18, 1994

Events: 400m, 800m, 4x400m relay

Last year's performance: Class Three 400m and 800m

Expectations:To win gold medals in all my events and produce personal best

Main rivals:In the 400 metres I think Vere Technical's Shericka Jackson and Olivia James are my main competitors while in the 800 metres I see all competitors as my main rivals.

Comment: Since Class Four where she won the 100 and 200 metres, Gordon, who stepped up to the 400 and 800 metres in Class Three, has been one of the standard bearers for her team at Champs and has been one of the key runners on their 4x400 metre relay teams. Gordon has done well at the national junior level and will be one of the athletes who should earn several points for Holmwood.
