Star Tell Me Pastor

Taking liberties
Dear Pastor,

I am in my late 50s and divorced. I have fallen in love with a very beautiful Jamaican girl. We started out well, but since I bought property and involved her in the transaction, she has changed.

I get the impression now that she feels very secure, she has become demanding and nagging. When she needs something, and I don't give her immediately, she nags me. I know she loves me and I don't think she cheats.

Whenever I am travelling, because of the type of work I am doing, she always warns me not to cheat on her. If the phone rings and it's a female, she stands right where I am and listen to the call. She has told a couple of my female friends not to call back. This is very embarrassing.

My children have turned against me. They don't even call because of my girlfriend. She has even cursed expletives to one of my female friends who insisted that she needed to talk to me.

I respect your opinion so I look forward to hear from you.

R.,

Dear R.,

Your girlfriend is very fortunate. You have been treating her well and she doesn't understand you did not have to do the things you have done for her.

Unfortunately, I must say she is an ignorant woman and, if she does not change her attitude, she will destroy your social life and hurt your business too.

It does not matter how pretty a woman is, if she does not have good manners and common sense, she doesn't deserve to have an intelligent man.

Perhaps you may suggest both of you go for counselling. In the meantime, make sure you make it clear to her that if you do not see radical changes in her, you are going to end the relationship.
