Dear Pastor,

I am a Jamaican woman living in North America. I work in a company where there are many Jamaicans, black and white. Most of them were born in America. Only about four of us were not born in America.

Pastor, I am ashamed to hear what these women say about Jamaican women. They call us names and accuse us of taking away their men, and say we are gold diggers. One woman said her husband told her when Jamaican women come to America and remain in America illegally, they sleep around, hoping they will find men who will marry to them so they get their green cards. When I heard these things, I felt ashamed because I know some of them are true.

Please, tell the Jamaican women to stop devaluing themselves because there are some of us who are trying to keep our heads up and are proud to be Jamaicans.

I suppose Jamaican women can hit back and say negative things about American women. Some of the accusations they have made about Jamaican women can be made about American women.

Some American women have also made themselves cheap. Some don't treat Jamaican men well and are anxious to have relationships with them because Jamaican men take good care of them. Some of the white women look to the Jamaican men for a particular reason that I do not have to mention.

Some Jamaican men have claimed that some American women do not make good wives. They could be right, they could be wrong. Attacking Jamaican women does not make sense.

There are good Jamaican women and there are bad Jamaican women. There are good American women and there are bad American women. He that is without sin cast the first stone.
