An illegal firearm was seized on Sunday during a routine check along the Woodland main road in Lucea, Hanover.

Reports from the Lucea police are that about 8:35 p.m., police officers were conducting routine checks along the main road when they signalled the driver of a white Toyota Corolla motor car to stop. During the search, a Smith and Wesson 9 mm pistol with serial number erased along with seven rounds of ammunition was found.

Three men were arrested in connection with the seizure, but their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
