Adding that he has had the Golden Child label for about 15 years on which he worked with artistes like Mr Vegas, Sean Paul, Kid Kurupt and Looga Man. "The feedback is crazy with the success of the Richer Than Money album which has Da'Ville, Etana, Trick Daddy and Amerika." Don Yute, whose real name is Jason Williams, said he decided to do the CD because he believes that there is an avenue for it. "Just the popular demand, everybody wants to know what Don Yute is up to and seeing the space for it. I still see the space for freshness in what I call world -hop," he said. Reinventing the whole Jamaican part of my career. Everybody been asking what's happening with Don Yute, so mi just a come work it in," he told THE STAR. While his local fan base is not huge, being based in the United States has its advantages as he gets influences from different types of music. "I love it 'cause it keeps the mystery. It's fresh to the ears," Don Yute said. |
