Star Tell Me Pastor

Please, don't kill the child

Dear Pastor,

I am a regular reader of your column. I must first say congrats on the good advice that you have been giving people. This is my second time writing to you for advice, but this time the advice is for my sister who just turned 26.

Almost one week ago, my sister found out that she is pregnant for her boyfriend but she does not think it is a good idea for her to keep the pregnancy which is just two to three weeks old. This is due to their living condition as she is unemployed and her boyfriend is not working for much weekly.

I was happy for her when she told me that she is pregnant because I love children and I happen to have one for myself as well. But just thinking of her condition, I got worried for them. She cries every day about the situation as she thought the contraceptive pills would have worked, but I guess they didn't.

I don't agree with it

Her boyfriend wanted a second baby which would be her first but she wasn't ready as yet as things are really hard on them. Her boyfriend wasn't thinking about certain things.

She has now decided to have an abortion which I don't agree with. I told her that the Lord can turn things around for the better, but she said that she does not want the pregnancy.

I need your fatherly advice on this matter as to whether or not you think it is a good idea for her to abort the pregnancy due to her living condition. She is just trying to put on a room on our mother's house for herself and is struggling already to do so.

Worried Sister

Dear Worried Sister,

I do not support abortion on demand. I believe that human life is sacred. Encourage your sister to carry the pregnancy and assure her of your help.

Pastor
